Pogány Castle

The Pogány Castle from Pălișca, one of the few baroque buildings in Transylvania which are still in a good state of preservation and function, gained notoriety not only because of its placement near the Retezat National Park, but also because of the artistic history of the noble family of Pogány – part of the nineteenth century Transylvania elite.The Pogány domain, consisting the castle with 22 rooms erected on two levels and a 17 ha arboretum.
